How about "-k|--keep-changes" or "-l|--local-changes", or 
"-p|--preserve-changes"?

BTW from a user's perspective, this operation _is_ a merge, not a 
checkout. So, IMHO the compatibility with that rarely used option of 
git-checkout is neglectable.
